He'll miss at least 20 games a year with upper body injuries.

Have fun.

Not a bad signing though it is a lot of money for a guy who gets hurt a lot and is a subpar skater in a league that has become a speed league. The comparisons to Handzus may be valid on paper and in Hitchcock's mind, but when Handzus had his best seasons, it was when the NHL game was being played with a lot more clutching and grabbing, 2 line passes were illegal and size and physical strength were more important factors.

When healthy, he can be a functional 3C that can play special teams, the problem is that he rarely stays healthy for long and that's not likely to improve as he moves into his 30s

Why on Earth would the Stars sign a 30yr old Radulov to that lengthy deal when Johansson was on the market? This guy has played 3 full seasons plus 9 games in the NHL over the last 10 years bc he keeps flying to the KHL. Johansson is one of the best playmakers in the league and could compliment Benn or Seguin.
